The Friends
The Friends of the Roeliff Jansen Community Library support the library by raising money for special programs or to purchase equipment and supplies.
In addition to accepting donations, the Friends also organize special events for the community. Central to the effort is the Friends Book Shop, which is staffed and managed through the efforts of a number of book-loving volunteers. Over the past five years, the Friends’ donations to the library totaled $125,000.
The Friends welcomes new members. Anyone interested should stop by the library for more information.

The Friends Book Shop
The Friends Book Shop is open the first Saturday of the month from 10am to 4pm. Stocked with donations from our generous and widely-read neighbors, the shop boasts all types of books, as well as CD’s and DVD’s.
Currently, our shelves are packed with history and biography, art (everything from fine art to crafts), philosophy, psychology, collecting, travel, nature and more. One corner is devoted to books for kids of all ages.
The Friends Book Shop is located in the lower level of the library. Volunteers are always welcome to help shelve donations and staff the store. The store is also happy to take donations of books in good condition.
